The measure requires insurance companies to sell domestic partners the same coverage they offer to married couples. Press secretary Margita Thompson says the governor’s decision reaffirms his position as a social moderate. Several other gay rights measures still await action by the governor, who has until September thirtieth to sign or veto bills. SOC
