About 150 Sacramento State students are registered in the campus’ College Republicans organization. Colleen Ripchick – the group’s vice-president of recruitment - says watching the convention has given her a jolt of inspiration. People stepping up actually saying, you know, I believe in President Bush and what he can do for our country is allowing College Republicans for example to stand up on a campus that’s primarily Democratic and say ‘I’m going to vote President Bush.’ College Republicans President Joe Patterson says with the convention on T-V, they plan to step up efforts to recruit young voters. I think a lot of students unfortunately are apathetic and I think that’s not their fault, I think it’s the fault of the parties, that’s why the College Republicans are here so we can let people know there are issues that will affect them. The group plans several events on campus to drum up support for the Republican Party before the upcoming election. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
