California Delegation in the Spotlight
Tuesday's speech by Governor Schwarzenegger helped put California in the spotlight at the Republican National Convention. And as Steve Milne reports, gave a boost of support to the California delegation.

California has 159 delegates. One of them is state Assemblywoman Sharon Runner. It’s been exciting these last few days. I’m losing my voice already from screaming so much just the first couple of sessions. This is Runner’s third convention and she says there are some noticeable differences. Actually, the security this year stands out. Everywhere we go there’s police officers protecting us, the protestors on the street, some for us being here, some against us being here. An Associated Press survey says the delegation is older and less diverse than the state, but Runner says it’s a well-rounded group. We have a majority of women in this California delegation – 53 percent. I think 18-percent of our delegation is ethnically diverse and I think it’s like the population of California. It’s changing, has changed over the years with all the immigrants coming in, including our own governor. Tomorrow, Governor Schwarzenegger is hosting a private luncheon for the California delegation at Planet Hollywood in Times Square, part of the chain he founded. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
