The fair's eighteen day run in progress now at Cal Expo is expected to attract a million visitors, making it one of the region's biggest draws. It's ten times as big as the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee which kicks off the summer over Memorial Day weekend. The fair had its highest attendance three years ago when one million forty four thousand people showed up. While attendance has dipped since then, revenue has risen. Tickets drive state fair revenue, but rentals, sales and sponsorships have grown. This year Cal Expo and the fair is projected to generate thirty two million dollars. Seventeen million dollars of that is expected to come during the nearly three weeks of the state fair. For the Business Journal, this is Mark Larson
