State Learning from Terrorism Drill
California’s Homeland Security Director says the first statewide terrorism drill is teaching valuable lessons.

Operation “Golden Guardian” began Thursday with a mock “dirty bomb” explosion at the Port of Los Angeles, followed by a pipe bomb scare at San Francisco International airport and a skyjacking scare at Oakland Airport. The drill continued Friday with a staged train derailment and toxic spill in Ventura. At state Emergency Services Headquarters outside Sacramento, Homeland Security Director Ron Iden (EYE din) said information flow is a key element in crisis management.
