Medi-CAL Reform Plan Release Delayed

The new state budget allocates 33 billion dollars, including federal funds, for Medi-CAL, which provides a wide range of health services for almost seven million poor and disabled Californians. The Schwarzenegger administration has been planning – and promoting – a basic reform aimed at saving the state hundreds of millions of dollars. But state Health and Human Services Agency spokeswoman Nicole Evans says the August second deadline could not be met.
