They have a few days to rest up before the fall quarter starts on Thursday.
All totaled, about 5,000 new freshmen will be starting classes this week. That’s about the same as last fall.
Campus spokeswoman Julia Ann Easley says this freshmen class stands out a bit.
"This group of entering students is very special. They make up the Centennial Class that is entering 100 years after our first class of 28 students came to what became UC Davis."
And as part of the university’s centennial celebration, the campus will hold a Fall Festival next month…with a street fair, homecoming game and the grand opening of the Robert Mondavi Institute of Wine and Food Science.
