Felix Garcia is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sacramento. He says the high-pressure system that’s causing 100-degree heat in the Sacramento Valley will give way to cooler temperatures.
"Sunday and Monday we’re going to have a break. The cool weather’s going to come basically from the ocean. The winds are going to come more from the Delta."
He says temperatures will be about 20-degrees cooler on Sunday and Monday with Valley highs in the low 80s. But there’s the potential for strong, dry north winds that may increase fire danger.
Seasonable weather…with highs in the low-to-mid 90s…is expected by midweek.
