Rick Landon is Yolo County’s Agricultural Commissioner. He says that’s on top of a disaster declaration from earlier this year because of freezing weather in April.

"…which affected primarily our grape crop. So we will have some impact to our wine grapes. The drought impacted our rangeland, our dry pasture."

Landon says the drought has destroyed $600,000 in pastureland. Even more damaging was the freezing weather in April that ruined about $7 million in wine grapes.

Agriculture is Yolo County’s leading industry…generating a little more than $450 million last year.
