The suspects are among more than 50 people arrested nationwide…accused of trafficking Ecstasy and marijuana.

Larry Brown is the Chief Assistant U-S Attorney in Sacramento. He says the gang…known as “Hop Sing”…is very dangerous. 

"Many organized street gangs, including Hop Sing, often times resort to violence to protect their drug turfs and that is one of the leading causes of some of the uptick in violent crime that we’ve seen throughout South Sacramento, Elk Grove and other parts of our region."  

The suspects face several charges, including conspiracy to distribute and possess ecstasy and marijuana. They face up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
