It’s called “Crystal Darkness”. The 30-minute film covers the impacts of methamphetamine abuse on youth and families.

Sacramento County Sheriff John McGinnis hopes people tune in.

"Please take the time to watch this program with your children, talk with them and recognize that information is the best weapon in the war on methamphetamine. To prevent people from first being exposed to it is the best thing we can possibly strive for."

McGinnis is one of the law enforcement officials interviewed in the documentary…which also includes interviews with drug addicts.

The program has already aired in four other markets, including Reno, Las Vegas and San Diego.

Six Sacramento TV stations will run the program this Wednesday night at 6:30.
