An Oak Park redevelopment site could be home to a new grocery store. Tesco, a British grocery chain, plans to open a 10,000-square-foot store at 34th Street and Broadway. The site was formerly a sausage factory. Now it is a vacant lot owned by nonprofit St. Hope. Tesco has been keeping quiet about its plans for the Sacramento region. But this month, the retailer is expected to reveal more Sacramento plans for its stores, called Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets. It recently announced 18 sites for the San Francisco Bay Area. The Oak Park site won’t be selling milk next week According to a Tesco spokesman, the company won’t open any stories in Northern California until 2009.
