Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama each released their own economic plans within the last week.  On Wednesday, it was John Edwards’s turn – and he chose Nevada, the state with the highest foreclosure rate in the country.

"You see what’s happening with the economy right now.  You see what’s happening – particularly in your state – with mortgage foreclosures.  We have such work to do as a nation to address these issues.”

So Edwards proposed what he calls a 100 billion dollar jobs package.  He wants to invest in green infrastructure, modernize unemployment insurance, and send 10 billion dollars in federal aid to states. 

“We oughta be getting more help to the states so that the states can actually provide the budgets and help that they need to, to their citizens.” 

But the Edwards campaign says the government wouldn’t pay for those measures up front.  Instead, a spokesman says an improved economy would bring in more tax revenue.
