The proposed assessment would vary depending on how close you live to the river – from $48 to $18.
John O’Farrell conducted the poll for Sacramento County. He says support ranges between 50%-60%.
"It shows us that people recognize that it’s really a priceless jewel in an urban area also that they’re willing to pay a nominal amount on an annual basis to maintain it so that the county can actually do a better job."
O’Farrell says the next step is to hold public hearings on the proposed fee.
The 23-mile parkway stretches through Sacramento, Rancho Cordova and Folsom.
