That’s because the California International Marathon – or CIM – is held in December. But race director John Mansoor says bad weather is always a possibility.
"We’ve had a couple of years out of our 25 where we’ve had some stormy years and it does certainly rain but runners can adapt to the rain pretty well so we’re not expecting to have to face anything like they did in Chicago."
The race will be held on December 2nd. This year marks CIM’s 25th anniversary. Mansoor says they’re expecting 10,000 runners to take part…that’s about 2,000 more than last year.
The marathon starts in Folsom and ends at the State Capitol building.
Last weekend, several people collapsed while running an unusually hot and humid Chicago marathon.
