The Sacramento region with some of its fast-growing green-energy companies, such as Altergy and Jadoo Power Systems, is one of the seven best cities worldwide for developing green-friendly practices and putting them to work, according to Fast Company magazine. Sacramento was listed as a runner-up, along with Minneapolis and Tallahassee, Florida. The four so-called “Fast-City” winners – communities with the best green-friendly practices -- are Chicago; Stockholm, Sweden; Portland, Oregon; and Vancouver, Canada. These cities earned high marks for their forward-looking, green-energy practices, such as heat-reducing rooftop gardens in Chicago to being the home of 2,500 green-related companies in Stockholm.
