The Stanford Home has purchased the headquarter building of the United Way in Sacramento. When it moves in, the non-profit will have a permanent home again, for the first time since 1979, when it vacated the old Stanford Mansion. United Way is staying put into early next year, as a tenant, while it hunts for a building more suitable to its current needs. The Stanford Home was founded in 1900, and today serves 1,700 children and their families in the Sacramento region. Both organizations say the transaction will help them financially.
