The California Association of Realtors is suing Blue Shield of California after the medical insurance provider announced it will drop coverage of 8,000 Realtors in May. The association filed the lawsuit this month. Its officials say Blue Shield ended their contract abruptly and without reason, leaving people scrambling for new coverage. This includes 158 people in the Sacramento region. Blue Shield, however, says the association didn’t live up to its end of the deal and failed to meet participation requirements.
