CoreLogic Systems of Sacramento has been acquired by an industry giant, First American Corporation, based in Santa Ana. CoreLogic’s 219 staff will remain in Sacramento, where the company developed a software system that detects mortgage fraud. Founded in 1977, its services touch more than a quarter of all the mortgages made in the U.S., and recorded revenue of $76 million in 2006. First American is the nation’s largest provider of business information, with 2,100 offices around the country. It offers title and specialty insurance, and related property and mortgage information.
