Holly Snell – a meteorologist with the National Weather Service – says we could hit a record.
"Our record for Downtown Sacramento was set in 1880 and it was 30 degrees and we’re forecasting a low tonight of 30 degrees for Downtown Sacramento so we’re looking at temperatures near to below record temperatures in the valley tonight."
She says you should bring pets and livestock inside Wednesday night - the same with sensitive plants. The cold overnight temperatures will continue for the next several days, although Wednesday night is expected to be the coldest.
