Workers are going anywhere people without air conditioning might be found.  That includes mobile home parks, single room occupancy hotels and motels and low income apartment complexes.

In addition, the Mayor is seeking help from citizens:

We are again asking the community to check on your elderly or frail neighbors and relatives.  We want to encourage you to do this daily until the heat wave lets up.

At a City Hall press conference, Fargo denied the city could have done more to prevent heat related deaths.  She pointed out that air conditioned community centers and libraries have extended their hours to help people beat the heat and that swimming pools are also open later than usual.
