More than 500 nurses are covered by the contract. The California Nurses Association represented their interests … and the outcome was a series of 5% annual raises, with 6% in the final year of the contract. They also have a new no-premium health plan and other added benefits. 

Contract talks had started in April. Registered nurses are in short supply in California. A state study on workforce trends finds that nursing programs in California aren’t generating enough RNs to meet the demands of growth and backfill for retirements.
