Metro Fire spokesman Christian Pebbles says summer has just begun and they’re already seeing too many cases. 

"We’re alarmed and we’re completely frustrated. The toll just keeps rising. We’ve had five in the last week – three of them near drownings and two of them fatalities."

The two fatalities include a 3-year-old boy and a 17-month-old girl. In both cases the parents left their children unattended.
