The new facility is in a neighborhood just off Del Paso Boulevard. It’ll replace the current WIND center located next to the Loaves and Fishes soup kitchen.

John Poswall who is leading the fundraising campaign to pay for the new center says they want to get the kids into a better environment. 

"And we, frankly, for years have wanted to get away from Loaves and Fishes, not that they don’t do a great job, but we don’t want that as the role model where our kids are going to end up."

17 year old Justin lives in a shelter with his mother and attends classes at WIND. He says he’s looking forward to the new center opening.

"It think it’s going to help a lot, because there’s a lot of people there who have been through some trouble and don’t really need to be around all the people that they’re around by Loaves and Fishes because there’s been a lot of fights." 

WIND provides a structured learning environment aimed at reintegrating homeless teens back into society. Organizers are raising $750,000 dollars to complete renovation work on the new center and hope to have it open by this summer.
