Sacramento County code enforcement officers will spend Friday and Saturday going after illegal dealers.

"With it being Easter we’re sure there’s going to be baskets, flowers, candy."

Officer Karen Alexandrou says illegal vendors create traffic hazards and undermine lawful businesses.

"For the legitimate business owners that pay into Social Security and other taxes that go back into the community, the vendors that come in, and they’re not paying any of these types of fees and they’re undercutting the business of the legitimate business owners."

Last month, officers gave out nearly 100 warnings during a three-day Valentine’s sweep. Fines for repeat offenders range from 240-dollars to 1-thousand dollars.
