Kaiser is sending two small teams of physicians. Among the doctors is Hernando Garzon (gar-ZONE) who practices at the Sacramento Medical Center. He says it’ll be a demanding two week-stint. One of the things we expect is to be surprised by what we find. I think there’s a real problem with getting the resources at hand, both personnel and medical equipment wise to the areas that are needed. So, I think we’re expecting a lot of challenges in terms of getting set up in a situation where we can actually provide effective medical care for the refugees. Garzon will be going to Colombo, Sri Lanka with his collage from Kaiser’s Sacramento Medical Center – rheumatologist Christine Fernando. They’ll stay at various relief camps where they will provide trauma and acute care to tsunami victims and their families. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
