SN&R's 20th/ "Women's Wit"/ Agent Ribbons/ "Her Minor Thing"

SN&R Turns 20 Journalist Melinda Welsh was founding editor when the Sacramento News & Review first appeared in 1989. As the paper celebrates its 20th anniversary this week, she's back at the helm. She'll tell you what it was like to start the city's alternative weekly and what some of her favorite stories have been through the years.

"Women's Wit" Two one-act comedies by local women writers are playing together in Sacramento. Two of the actresses from "Women's Wit" joins us and you'll hear a couple of short monologues.

"Women's Wit" runs through Sunday, May 3rd at the Three Penny Playhouse, 1725 R St., Sacramento. Performances are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Information: (916) 456-1600.

Agent Ribbons Sacramento band Agent Ribbons has a new member and is making waves in the music world, including a couple of recent showcases at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. The band is back home and performing this weekend. Today on Insight, we'll talk with the three bandmates about their new album and going on tour with Scottish band Camera Obscura. They'll also perform in our studio.

"Her Minor Thing" Update The Sacramento-made feature film "Her Minor Thing" is about to get its U.S. television premiere on Women's Entertainment. We'll get an update from producer and director Jim Meyers.
