Governor Schwarzenegger says he plans to work hard to bring more jobs to California in 2010.

The governor says it pains him that so many Californians are going into the holidays with no work and no money for gifts and good tidings. 

So, he’s making a New Year’s resolution to try to bring back some of the hundreds of thousands of jobs the state has lost since the recession started two years ago... 

Schwarzenegger:  “I’m going to ask the legislators and legislative leaders to get together and really start thinking about not just to rely on the federal government---even though the federal government is very important on job creation. But also for us to do everything we can to create more jobs...”

  

The governor acknowledges it won’t be easy. 

California’s unemployment rate was above 12-percent last month and the state is facing a 21-billion dollar deficit over the next two years. 

But, Schwarzenegger says he’s optimistic that the economic downturn is finally starting to loosen its tight grip on California.   

The governor didn’t offer any details about how he’ll try to bring jobs back to the state.
