The injunction will stop state reductions to services that help 130,000 disabled Californians prepare meals, bathe or get to medical appointments. The cuts were scheduled to start on November 1st. But the judge said that was not enough time for recipients to appeal the reductions. The Legislature and Governor Schwarzenegger agreed to the cuts in July to help close the state's multi-billion dollar budget gap. The California Department of Finance says the reductions would save more than $80 million this fiscal year and almost $140 million annually in coming years. The state plans to appeal the ruling.
