As of Monday evening, the 49 Fire has burned around 50 homes and 10 businesses over 340 acres. Two people are injured, and the fire is 70 percent contained.

Tami Higgs is one of the dozens who lost their homes.

Higgs: “We lost everything. We have a few pieces of my grandma’s china, and that is it. We have nothing – absolutely nothing.”

Governor Schwarzenegger stopped to talk with Higgs and gave her a hug after touring the neighborhood around lunchtime.

The fire's cause remains under investigation.
