Allstate released its “Best Drivers Report” Wednesday. Spokesman Jim Klapthor says Sacramento ranks as California’s third-most improved city for safe driving.
“In Sacramento, the average length of time between car accidents for the average driver is actually increasing. That means a bit fewer accidents now in 2009 as compared to the first time the report came out in 2005.”
The study says the average driver in Sacramento will get into a crash every 8.3 years. That’s below the national average of every 10 years but an improvement by more than one-half year.
Don’t expect your car insurance to go down because of this however. Klapthor says rates are based on individual driving history and miles driven, not on a community’s ranking for best drivers.
Allstate came up with the numbers by analyzing claim data to determine the likelihood drivers will experience a vehicle collision.
